Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality sushi dishes in a fast-paced fine dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Japanese cuisine, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Prepare sushi and other Japanese dishes according to menu specifications and presentation standards
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and presentation
- Assist in menu planning and development, ensuring dishes meet the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Help to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors
- Provide exceptional service to customers, ensuring their dining experience is enjoyable and memorable
- Maintain knowledge of dietary restrictions and preferences, including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options
- Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies as needed
- Participate in kitchen staff training and development programs
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef in a fine dining environment
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques
- Experience with menu planning and development
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent knife skills and attention to detail
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and preferences
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Familiarity with food industry standards and regulations
- Ability to help with kitchen staff training and development
- Strong culinary skills, including food preparation and meal preparation
- Experience in the food industry, preferably in fine dining
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $50.00 per hour
