The Sr. Tax Accountant is a key position in the Tax department, with aprimary focus on sales tax, use tax, property tax, indirect taxes, and tax audit support. The Sr. Tax Accountant is responsible to perform compliance, reconciliation, and reporting requirements in an accurate and timely manner. This position reports to the Tax Manager of Indirect Tax.
What You Will Do
- Prepare and submit indirect tax filings and payments, including business and property tax.
- Coordinate monthly preparation of sales and use tax data files to outsourced service providers.
- Review monthly sales and use tax returns processed by outsourced service providers.
- Review, research, validate, and maintain tax exemption certificates, internal and external.
- Prepare and maintain tax account analysis, reconciliations, and monthly journal entries.
- Assist with gathering information for property tax filing, audit support, prepares monthly property tax accruals, review property tax bills and processing payments.
- Research and prepare documentation relating to tax rate changes impacting retail stores.
- Research products and charges to determine taxability and mapping to tax table.
- Assist with the monitoring and maintenance of the tax engines for verification and application of correct tax.
- Perform tax research to support tax compliance, tax audit defense and planning.
- Review, research, and respond to tax notices, inquiries, and questions from business and external relating to sales and use tax, property tax, indirect tax, tax audit, and other tax matters.
- Maintain tax calendar ensuring all tax filing requirements are met.
- Ensure appropriate documentation and internal controls are maintained.
- Communicate and partner effectively with a team environment, accounting team and other internal business partners, and tax authorities.
- Assist with various tax projects.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
