Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly analytical Land Development Analyst to join our finance team. This position is responsible for assisting with forecasting, budgeting, and analysis of our residential development projects and supports strategic decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and financial modeling skills, particularly using Microsoft Excel and other Windows-based software, a solid understanding of accounting principles and cost allocation methodologies, and excellent communication abilities.
The main job responsibility of the Land Development Analyst is to create, update and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets relating to our residential land development projects. This involves analyzing financial data and working with complex cash flow models that support decision-making of owners and senior operational leaders. In addition, Land Development Analyst collaborates with different departments by providing financial insights, support financial planning processes, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
Responsibilities:
Prepares budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.
Research information required to support financial analyses.
Maintains financial models for various development projects.
Analyzes financial data to identify opportunities, variances, and support projections.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to gather relevant information for financial analysis.
Works independently using project management skills.
Supports the monthly financial reporting process, including forecasting and reporting.
Prepares ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as needed to support decision-making.
Assists in the evaluation of potential investments and business opportunities through pro forma modeling.
Ensures financial reporting accuracy in accordance with various projects and legal contracts.
Continuously improves financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a results-driven mindset.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
1-5 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting and analysis.
Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP software applications, such as NetSuite.
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Education and Experience Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance, accounting, or related field, and relevant professional experience is required.
Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.
One to five years of financial analysis experience in a complex analytical environment.
