Job Title: Field Service Technician
Location: Southern California (Los Angeles/ San Diego area)
Overview:
SmartSource is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to cover the Southern California region for a 3 month contract to hire opportunity.
This position will involve providing technical support to multiple customers within the designated geographic area. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical abilities and printer skills, with additional proficiency in PC repair. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in mechanical systems and printers, particularly in wide format printers.
Responsibilities:
- Provide break-fix troubleshooting and repair services to customers
- Work a standard 40-hour week with on-call availability for nights and weekends
- Ability to work overtime when necessary, with prior approval from the Manager
- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain positive customer relations
- Diagnose and resolve machine performance issues
- Install, repair, and troubleshoot workstations, printers, scanners, routers, switches, and servers
- Support LAN-WAN environments and provide desk-side technical support
- Conduct analysis to identify potential problems and implement preventative measures
- Maintain technical competence to support hardware and software systems
- Perform hardware and peripheral installations in accordance with Change Management Process
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks as per OEM specifications
- Handle responsibilities within the designated territory, including travel requirements
Skills/Experience:
- Required Skills: A+ certification, valid driver's license, ability to travel overnight and be on-call
- Strong mechanical abilities and printer skills, along with PC repair and software proficiency
- Education: High school diploma, College degree, Military experience, Technical school certification, or IT course completion
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role
