Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Pharmacist to join our team. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in providing pharmaceutical care to patients. Your expertise and knowledge will contribute to the safe and effective use of medications, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
Duties:
- Contributes to all clinical aspects of the PBM. Examples include (but not limited to)
- Availability for clinical consults by team members, clients, and members
- Appropriately gathering clinical information as needed by team members, clients and members
- Assist in creating formularies, prior authorization forms, charts, and other clinical forms, charts, etc…
- Reviewing and analyzing clinical studies, data, formularies, prior authorization criteria, and other clinical policies
- Contribute to the educational development of the team by training team members and other clinical staff
- Participate in appropriate collaborations and meetings
- Prepare and administer presentations as appropriate
- Appropriately review and approve Prior Authorizations
- Travel (minimal)
- Clinical consultations for various parties including team members and clients.
- Assist in creation of program catalogues.
- Update and manage various drug formularies.
- Creation of prior authorization criteria
- Analysis on new medications that hit the market.
- Review prior authorization requests and appeals.
- Analyze claims for drug utilization management.
- Provide guidance on formulary issues and clinical programs.
- Maintain and update clinical lists such as step therapy and exclusion lists.
- Contribute to the educational development of the team by training team members and other clinical staff.
- Participate in appropriate collaborations and meetings.
- Prepare and administer presentations as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
- Completion of a post-residency clinical pharmacy program or equivalent experience
- Current pharmacist license in [state]
- Board certification in pharmacotherapy or other relevant specialty (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of hospital medicine, critical care, pediatrics, ICU, and acute pain management
- Experience in patient assessment and medication therapy management
- Proficiency in managing complex medication regimens and drug interactions
- Familiarity with managed care principles and formulary management
- BS or PharmD degree from and accredited school of pharmacy
- PBM and/or Managed Care experience preferred but not required
- At least 1 year of clinical and/or community pharmacy experience preferred
- Completion of a PGY-2 PBM Residency preferred but not required
Must be licensed in the state of residence
- Must not have any records of convictions involving any form of chemical dependency, felony or any adverse actions pending by any Board of Pharmacy
