POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Manager, Workforce & Capacity reports to the Director of Culture & Community in support of the Associated Black Charities (ABC) mission.
The Program Manager, Workforce & Capacity is responsible for ABC program management as assigned and researching and designing collaborative workforce initiatives and identifying critical workforce challenges, workforce policy issues and potential solutions in partnership with the organization’s leadership team. This will include utilizing data to support the development of innovative strategies, assessing the field to identify emerging trends and recommending new initiatives to achieve specified outcomes for Black low wage residents. As ABC’s lead around Workforce Collaborative initiatives, the Program Manager, Workforce & Capacity will lead the development and implementation of workforce development strategies that promote racial equity, diversity, and inclusion. The Program Manager, Workforce & Capacity will work closely with community organizations, employers, and other stakeholders to identify and address systemic barriers to employment and create pathways to economic mobility for marginalized communities.
The Program Manager, Workforce & Capacity will also work with the Director of Culture and Community to focus on ABC’s Capacity Building programming including but not limited to Board Pipeline Leadership Development Training and ABC Academy.
The Program Manager, Workforce & Capacity is analytical, multi-task oriented, uses critical thinking and discretion, is self-motivated, and possesses excellent administrative skills and accountability. The Program Manager, Workforce & Capacity will have integrity, high motivation, and be able to produce results in a fast paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
General Program Management
- Support the implementation of ABC’s racial equity programming, including designing program plans, timelines, identifying appropriate partners and collaborators, and coordinating with other program staff and volunteers.
- Collaborate with the Director of Culture & Community to develop and implement strategies for achieving the organization’s strategic goals related to racial equity and justice.
- Maintain relationships with program partners, including community organizations, funders, and other stakeholders, to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
- Provide regular program updates to the Director of Culture & Community, President & CEO, and other team members including program evaluations and impact assessments.
- Develop and implement program policies and procedures to ensure program effectiveness, compliance with internal policies and best practices, and the safety and well-being of participants.
- Ensure program data and records are accurately maintained, including program evaluations, participant data, and other program-related information.
- Collaborate with ABC’s Outreach, Communications, and Social Media Coordinator to develop and implement program-related communications and marketing strategies.
- Attend meetings, events, and conferences related to racial equity, justice, and workforce development to stay current on trends, best practices, and potential collaborations.
- Program leadership, strategy, and oversight of ABC’s Board Pipeline Leadership Development Training Program, ABC Academy, and ABC’s Workforce Collaborative.
- Additional program participation and support of ABC’s Equity in Action Conference, ABC’s Community Convos, and other programming as assigned.
Workforce Collaborative
- Develop and implement a comprehensive racial equity workforce strategy for community workforce development that supports the organization's mission and values.
- Work closely with community organizations, employers, and other stakeholders to identify and address systemic barriers to employment and create pathways to economic mobility for marginalized communities.
- Develop and implement training programs and initiatives that promote awareness of systemic racism and its impact on the workforce and equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to advance racial equity and inclusion.
- Re-establish, lead, and convene workforce practitioners on a quarterly basis by way of ABC’s Workforce Collaborative.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as nonprofit management, public policy, or social work.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in program management or a related field, preferably in a nonprofit organization focused on racial equity and justice.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, program participants, and partners.
- Available to work in an in-person office setting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $59,000.00 - $76,500.00 per hour
