QUALIFICATIONS
1. Minimum of ten years of successful experience in teaching or school administration
2. Master’s degree or higher
3. Valid Administrator’s license for administration and supervision
4. Such alternatives to the qualifications as the Director may find appropriate
5. FLSA exempt

REPORTS TO Assistant Director of Schools
JOB GOAL To assist the Assistant Director of Schools in the task of selecting quality employees to develop, achieve, and maintain the best possible educational programs and services
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Oversees the following personnel functions:
- Plans and conducts new employee orientation and ongoing training to introduce new employees to school policies, rules, and practices
- Maintains application files
- Posts job vacancies
- Oversees the process of filling vacancies
- Maintains personnel files
- Appointment letters
- Acknowledgements of resignations, retirements, non-renewals
2. Actively builds a network for recruiting top notch and diverse candidates for all positions
3. Investigates grievances and/or complaints as designated by the Assistant Director of Schools for the purpose of reaching resolutions that provide a healthy work environment
4. Assists with the implementation of TEAM Evaluation
5. Assists with the evaluation program for all classified and AOB employees
6. Assists with the development of ongoing professional training programs for staff
7. Maintains membership within TASPA and is an active participant.
8. Assists with oversight of certified employee licensing requirements with regard to:
- Obtainment of initial license
- Advancement of license
- Renewal of license
- Tenure guidelines
9. Conducts exit interviews with all employees leaving Cleveland City Schools
10. Assists with maintaining all board policies related to personnel
11. Serves as system SafeSchools Training database manager
12. Serves as Highly Qualified Officer with regard to ESSA Requirements
- Verifies credentials
- Maintains an internal record
- Posts Highly Qualified status for Paraprofessionals
13. Oversees substitute teacher process with regard to:
- Recruitment
- Training
- Assignment process
- Record keeping
14. Oversees student teacher process with regard to:
- Student teacher placements
- Lab students
- Student interns
15. Attends required meetings and submits required reports
16. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Schools or Assistant Director of Schools
