ODNR owns and manages state parks, state forests, state nature preserves and wildlife areas. We license all hunting, fishing and watercraft; oversee and permit all mineral extraction, monitor dam safety, manage water resources and serve as the second largest Law Enforcement presence in the State of Ohio.
We are accepting applications for a Park & Watercraft Manager 1 position within the Division of Parks & Watercraft, located at Buck Creek State Park in Clark County. What you will do…
- Plan & manage all operations (e.g., budgetary, fiscal, staffing, facilities & equipment, safety, programming, etc.) of Buck Creek State Park.
- Actively manage Buck Creek State Park which offers visitors scenic hiking trails, picnic areas, playground, a disc golf course, reservable day lodge and a family friendly campground.
- Establish park goals & priorities, preserving Ohio’s historical, cultural and natural resources.
- Serve as a direct supervisor.
- Provide exceptional customer service & manage stakeholder relationships.
- Coordinate activities with other park districts, ODNR division/offices & outside entities.
- Starting hourly pay of $29.49/hr with multiple pay increases over your first 7.5 years of service, with an end salary of $42.01/hr.

Qualifications
24 mos. trg. or exp. in natural resources management, parks & recreation management, facility management, hospitality management, business or public administration; 12 mos. supervisory exp.; valid driver’s license.
- Or completion of associate core program in natural resources management, parks & recreation management, facility management, hospitality management, business or public administration; 6 mos. exp. in natural resources management, parks & recreation management, facility management, hospitality management, business or public administration; 12 mos. supervisory exp.; valid driver’s license.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in natural resources management, parks & recreation management, facility management, hospitality management, business or public administration; 12 mos. supervisory exp.; valid driver’s license.
- Or 12 mos. exp. as Assistant Park & Watercraft Manager, 22515; valid driver’s license.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
