The Home Shopper provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service. The Home Shopper, with the use of a computer, is responsible for compiling online merchandise orders for customers. The Home Shopper will process approximately 10 to 20 orders per day. Using a handheld computer and a printed list of items the Home Shopper will retrieve items from the shelves to fill the on-line order, checking and bagging requested grocery items. Once the order is complete the Home Shopper will return to the processing area for verification and load the order on to the delivery truck. The Home Shopper is responsible for accurate and timely assembly of customer's online product orders from the store shelves to the
delivery truck.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Provide customer service as currently defined by the employer within the scope of the position and within company policy.
- Operate handheld computer/scanning unit to check in item from the order, ensuring the merchandise matches the order.
- Ability to identify and locate items in a proficient manner within the three categories of the store (ambient,
chilled, and frozen).
- Monitor the processing of all customers orders to ensure customers receive all products that have been ordered/charged for.
- Monitor/review the picking of orders to ensure time commitments are met.
- Bag grocery items and place them into bins.
- Push filled cart to the DUG area to be staged on to hand trucks.
- Push loaded hand truck to customer vehicle for handoff..
- Maintain cleanliness of store and DUG area.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrated prior customer service or related experience
- Knowledge of products, product pricing and store layout
- Ability to use basic math skills
- Ability to operate company operating systems for online shopping
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to understand and follow instructions, and ability to read, retain and comprehend guidelines, policies and procedures applicable to the position
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently as well as within a large team
- Self-motivated and driven to increase knowledge of Albertsons Safeway products and share that knowledge with our customers
- Ability to provide regular and predictable attendance. (Employees may be scheduled to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, and schedules may vary on a weekly basis)
- Ability to comply with workplace conduct standards

Union and Non-Union: The pay range is $16.38 to $16.88 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Starting rates will vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation pay (accrued based on hours worked), paid holidays (between 7-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401k eligibility).”
Work Environment:
Working conditions consist of a temperature-controlled store environment. Occasional exposure to outdoor environment with varying temperatures
