Job Description
Fire Protection Company seeks sprinkler mechanics and pipe fitters for immediate hire.
Applicants should have a working knowledge and experience with:
- Knowledge of fire sprinkler systems and standpipes (i.e. dry vs. wet systems, pre-action, etc.) and experience installing this kind of systems
- Familiarity with NFPA codes and requirements
- Reading plans and installing in accordance with engineered designs
- Threading and installing threaded pipe, grooving pipe and installing mechanical fittings
- Installation and start-up of fire pumps as part of a sprinkler system
- Pipe risers, Siamese, and Control Valve lay-out and installation
- Job site maintenance, including mobilization, de-mobilization, maintaining a clean work site
- OSHA Safety Standards (OSHA 10 required)
Successful applicants should also possess:
- The ability to identify deviations from a plan and the need for change orders
- The ability and/or experience supervising other workers (helpers) on a jobsite
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
Company Description
Hudson Valley Fire Inc. is a fire protection company which installs, inspects and services fire sprinkler systems, standpipes, fire extinguishers, suppression systems and exhaust ventilation systems. We are a non- union company with benefits that include a 401K plan with partial company match, paid vacation, personal / sick time and holidays. Compensation is commensurate with experience and capability. Clean driver’s license preferred.
