Our private practice Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery clinic is looking for a part-time oral surgery assistant to work 3 10hr shifts. The oral surgery assistant would take cone beam CTs, clinical photography, and optical scans of the dentition. Surgically, you would assist with surgical extractions, IV sedations, expose and bonds, and dental implants. Opportunities exist for assisting in the hospital operating room during jaw surgery.
The ideal candidate would have experience working in a busy oral surgery clinic and be familiar with room set up, instruments and sedations. Experience with oral surgery is needed. We are looking for an assistant that is a team player and willing to learn. Attention to detail is expected in order to maintain a safe and clean environment for our patients. DAANCE certification a plus but we will support your education if need be.
Responsibilities also include interacting with patients in a friendly and supportive manner. Taking vital signs. Updating patient information in the electronic medical record (DSN.) Sterilizing equipment and ordering supplies. Dental anesthesia assistant certification preferred but training is available. Working with the team to ensure patient safety at all times.
Qualifications and skills
· High school diploma (or GED)
· Washington state dental assistant certificate and active license
· BLS/CPR certified
· Excellent communication skills
· Ability to multi task and work in teams
· Dexterity in assisting surgeon
· Strong organizational skills
