Solar Mechanical QAQC and Logistics Specialist Job Description (On the road)
Description:
Nesco is looking for an experienced Mechanical QAQC manager who is self-sufficient and willing to learn. The Mechanical QAQC Manager will assist the site foreman and CM’s in providing direction and training to field employees to ensure that all work is executed to the highest standards. QAQC Managers qualities should include but not limited to the ability to evaluate, plan and execute construction plans, provide employees with proper training and follow up and must be detailed and dependable. Equipment operating skills is a plus. The mechanical foreman and mechanical QAQC manager must work as a team to makes sure we are safe, we are installing a quality product and being efficient. The company is based in Colorado, but we often work out of state for months at a time. Must we willing to travel 100% of the time.
Responsibilities:
Main Responsibilities
- Review drawings for technical specifications
- Perform accurate material take offs (mechanical and electrical)
- Material Management
- Assist supervisor with logistics coordination
- Quality Control: Help manage QAQC for civil, survey and fence, and mechanical installation
Construction
- Responsible for implementation for site specific mechanical quality control plan
- Manage all nonconformities, identify a resolution and implement corrective action and preventive actions
- Perform daily inspections, log issues and work with foreman to retrain install crews
- Employee development (Nesco and temp) – Able to train and provide feedback on all mechanical tasks (posts, racking, modules) Use a hands-on teaching approach to training and be willing to work alongside crew
- Assist with logistics and material management for mechanical scopes, including material inspections, offload and inventory
- Monitor crew installation for work quality. Provide feedback to team members and retrain on tasks as necessary
- Manage the mechanical quality control process (posts, racking and modules install) Train site mechanical leads to assist as needed
- Complete weekly quality reports
- Utilize Procore for quality control documentation
- Promote and comply with federal, state and company safety policies and procedures
- Help manage the punch list and closeout process
- Must be willing to work hands installing posts, rack and modules at all times
Requirements:
- Able to manage install of posts, racking and module scopes
- Flexibility to travel from project to project for extended durations
- Minimum 2 years of ground mount solar construction experience
- Maintain a high level of leadership and respect amongst field employees
- Ability to read detailed mechanical drawings and install manuals and perform product take-off and calculations.
- Possess necessary communication skills to professionally interface with management and clients
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Time management – Able to turn in paperwork in a timely manner (JHA’s, toolbox talks, timecards, daily reports, crew break downs, etc.)
- Works well in a team setting
- Always maintain a professional appearance
- Overtime required based on project needs
- Clean driving record and means of transportation
- Osha 10 certified
- Pass a drug screening

Pay: From $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 55 per week
