Position Overview:
We are actively seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Diesel Mechanic Helper to join our dynamic maintenance team. As a Diesel Mechanic Helper, you will work alongside experienced technicians to ensure the proper functioning of our fleet through meticulous inspections, routine maintenance, and timely repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with senior mechanics to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Assist in performing routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
- Participate in the repair and replacement of faulty components or systems.
- Learn and apply technical knowledge related to diesel engines and vehicle systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and guidelines.
- Contribute to the overall cleanliness and organization of the maintenance area.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic Helper is preferred but not mandatory.
- Basic understanding of diesel engines and vehicle systems.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy objects.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with diesel engines.
- Inspect, repair, and replace faulty parts and components.
- Fabricate and modify parts as needed.
- Use hand tools and specialized equipment to complete repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed.
- Test drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning after repairs.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a diesel mechanic is required.
- Knowledge of dealership service procedures and standards is preferred.
- Experience with tire service, shocks, struts, and electrical systems is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of diesel engine operations.
- Ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools to identify problems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
