Mechanical Designer Department: Engineering - Mechanical

SUMMARY
Prepare and review layout drawings for new and existing products. Review customer specifications. Produce Bills of Materials for installations and assemblies. Create submittal approval and O&M manuals. Assign and release part numbers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepare and review layout drawings for new and existing products. Review customer specs and drawings.
2. Produce Bills of Material for installations and assemblies. 3. Create Submittal Approval and Operation & Maintenance Manuals. 4. Assign and release part numbers and special parts for orders. 5. Provide technical support to Customer Service, Customers, Sales and Manufacturing. 6. Work with vendors to locate components and obtain quotes. 7. Maintain project records.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have knowledge of Auto-Cad, AutoDesk Inventor, or Solidworks, as well as MS Office software. Knowledge of structural design and sheet metal forming a plus. Occasional field service work.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Usual office working conditions with moderate noise such as computers and printers, telephones and co-workers. Occasional exposure to elements such as noise, odor, dust, heat, cold or chemicals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An Associates Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related training and experience or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
