As we expand our operations, we are looking for a skilled JOC/IDIQ Estimator to join our team and contribute to our strategic growth.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for Job Order Contracting (JOC) and Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) projects.
- Analyze blueprints, construction drawings, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
- Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
- Interface with project management teams to follow up on bids and budgets to close the business.
- Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors and participate in contract negotiations.
- Maintain records of estimated and actual costs, reporting and providing analytics to management to improve bidding process and strategy.
- Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
- Contribute to the company’s reputation by ensuring compliance with client specifications and government regulations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an estimator with specific experience in JOC/IDIQ contracts.
- Strong understanding of construction estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
- Proficient with estimating software and spreadsheet design.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction science, or related field preferred.
- Certification from AACE International or ASPE is advantageous.
