The National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) is the national membership organization for the nation’s federally qualified health centers (also known as FQHCs or Community Health Centers). The Manager, JEDI Initiatives and Programs plays a crucial role in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within our organization. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies and programs to foster an inclusive workplace culture, promote equity, and ensure diversity across all aspects of our organization's operations. The JEDI Initiatives and Programs will report to the Director of JEDI and is a member of a talented People and Culture Team. The position is based out of NACHC’s Bethesda, MD, office and is considered remote work eligible; however, a hybrid arrangement is preferred.
Responsibilities:
1. Strategy Development: Collaborate with senior leadership and relevant stakeholders to develop a comprehensive JEDI strategy aligned with the organization's mission, values, and goals.
2. Program Implementation: Lead the implementation of JEDI programs, initiatives, and activities aimed at promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organization. This includes but is not limited to training and education, recruitment and retention strategies, employee resource groups, and community engagement efforts.
3. Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to increase awareness, understanding, and skills related to diversity, equity, and inclusion among employees at all levels of the organization.
4. Recruitment and Retention: Partner with HR and hiring managers to implement inclusive recruitment and retention practices that attract and retain diverse talent. Provide guidance on best practices for creating inclusive job descriptions, conducting unbiased interviews, and fostering a welcoming onboarding experience.
5. Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze data related to JEDI metrics, such as workforce demographics, employee engagement surveys, and retention rates. Use data insights to identify areas for improvement and track progress towards JEDI goals.
6. Policy and Procedure Development: Collaborate with relevant departments to review and update policies, procedures, and practices to ensure they are aligned with JEDI principles and promote equity and inclusion.
7. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with employees, leadership, community partners, and other stakeholders to build buy-in and support for JEDI initiatives. Serve as a resource and advisor on JEDI-related matters.
8. Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about emerging trends, research, and best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion. Continuously assess and refine JEDI strategies and programs to drive meaningful impact and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Diversity and Inclusion, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in diversity, equity, and inclusion, HR, organizational development, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of JEDI principles, concepts, and best practices.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience developing and delivering training programs and workshops.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, track metrics, and measure the effectiveness of JEDI initiatives.
- Project management skills and experience in connecting DEI focused projects across various areas are a plus
- Commitment to equity, social justice, and creating inclusive environments.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Diversity Professional, Certified Diversity Executive) are a plus.
- Additional duties and responsibilities as required.
This position reports to the Director of JEDI and may require occasional travel and evening or weekend work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
