Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Catheterization Lab team. As a Registered Nurse in the Cath Lab, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care during diagnostic and interventional procedures. Your expertise and attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Provide pre/intra/post procedure nursing care (assessment, monitoring, intervention and education) related to diagnostic and therapeutic adult cardiac catheterization procedures including (but not limited to) angioplasty, coronary stents, Swan Ganz/right heart catheterization, Peripheral Artery and Venous interventions and Cardiac Rhythm Management.
● Apply nursing theory to the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses to health, illness, and procedure.
● Perform patient care according to patient priority (includes interventions identified through nursing diagnoses), and departmental, divisional, and/or unit policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. Document/report interventions and patient/family response. Follow universal precautions.
● Actively monitor patient vitals during adult vascular procedures. Participate in life-saving measures such as defibrillation and cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed.
● Demonstrate competency in the following: Arterial and Venous access management/hemostasis, angioplasty, coronary stents, Peripheral intervention, intra-aortic balloon pumps, and recognition of cardiac rhythms.
● Demonstrates competency in caring for post-op patients with frequent vital signs and assessment skills
● Administer intravenous and oral medications to patients.
● Maintains and monitors pharmaceutical and narcotic levels and documents appropriately
● Manage patients under procedural sedation.
● Operate physiologic recorder and printer to monitor electrocardiogram and hemodynamic data. Troubleshoot equipment issues and/or initiate repair.
● Operate intra-aortic balloon pump console. Troubleshoot equipment issues and/or initiate repair.
● Follow and promote the centers mission and values
● Transport patient to/from pre-post recovery and surgical unit.
● Ensure adequate levels of all supplies are available in all procedural room(s) prior to and after every procedure and replace as needed.
● Ensure safe and effective patient care by following HIPPA and safe practices
● Maintains licensure with appropriate continuing education
● Shows and maintains competencies to care for the cardiovascular patient.
● Positively collaborate and coordinate the continuum of care within a multidisciplinary team and across divisions/units.
● Precept new staff at the direction of the Director of Nursing and/or Facility Administrator.
● Follow policies and procedures in accordance with regulations set forth by Texas Board of Nursing, AAAHC, CMS, AORN and Advanced Cardiovascular Centers.
● Demonstrate acceptance of responsibility; pride in work performed; flexibility in acceptance of assignments while consistently maintaining professional behavior and appearance.
● May be required to train and provide cross-coverage for Pre- and Post-Recovery Unit and Operative suite.
● Document within the EMR, and other software programs.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
Certification/Licensure Requirement:
● Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required by start date.
● Current certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required by start date.
● Current license to practice nursing in the state of Florida as required by position start date.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45.00 - $48.00 per hour
