Assistant General Manager
Job Description
Position Summary:
Our Assistant General Manager is an extension of the General Manager. They help set the standard for the entire operation and assist in the daily supervision of restaurant operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:

Manages and oversees entire restaurant operation alongside the General Manager.

Delivers exemplary hospitality for internal and external guests.

Responds quickly and compassionately to customer questions and concerns.

Coordinate with the chefs to plan new and update existing menu items.

Coordinate with marketing, sales, and events departments to plan and execute strategies to build business.

Communicate with the kitchen and staff to expedite their order and ensure prompt service.

Organize and supervise shifts.

Manage and lead staff.

Maintains staffing pars by interviewing and hiring accordingly in conjunction with GM.

Monitors staff performance through ongoing team & individual feedback through evaluation, coaching, counseling, and progressive discipline.

Estimate consumption, forecast requirements, and maintain inventory.

Manages restaurant supplies and submits orders.

Control costs and minimize waste.

Nurture the flow of service and positive working environment.

Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions.

Implement innovative strategies to improve productivity and sales.

Educates self with full understanding of all food and beverage products.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods of time.

Must be able to bend and lift up to 30 lbs.

Role may include job duties or tasks requiring repetitive motions.

Exposure to hot kitchen elements or cleaning materials.
Skills / Experience:
-
At least three (3) years of experience as an Assistant General Manager or similar role.

At least 3 years of fine dinning experience required.

At least five (3) years of experience in customer service management.

Extensive food and wine knowledge.
-
Familiarity with restaurant management software, Micros preferred.

Strong leadership, motivational and people skills.

Great interpersonal and communication skills.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality, or related field preferred.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays when required.

Must have SNHD Food Handlers card up to date.

Must have TAM card up to date.
