Overview:
As a Sales Associate at a smoke and vape shop, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while assisting patrons in finding the right products to meet their needs. Your role involves staying informed about the various smoking and vaping products available, including e-cigarettes, vaporizers, glassware, and tobacco-related accessories. You will educate customers on product features, usage techniques, and safety guidelines, ensuring they have a positive shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting products that suit their preferences and requirements. Answer questions about products, provide recommendations, and offer guidance on usage.
- Product Knowledge: Stay updated on the latest trends in smoking and vaping products. Understand the differences between various devices, accessories, and e-liquids to effectively advise customers.
- Sales: Process transactions accurately using the shop's point-of-sale (POS) system. Upsell and cross-sell products to maximize sales while ensuring compliance with age verification requirements.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining proper inventory levels by monitoring stock and notifying management when replenishment is needed. Keep shelves and displays organized and well-stocked.
- Compliance: Adhere to all local and state regulations regarding the sale of tobacco and vaping products, including age verification protocols and product labeling requirements.
- Shop Maintenance: Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the store environment. Perform routine cleaning tasks and help with merchandising efforts to enhance product visibility.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Previous retail experience preferred, ideally in a similar environment (smoke shop, vape store, etc.).
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Knowledge or interest in smoking and vaping products.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail setting.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of moderately heavy items (up to 30 pounds).
- Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required based on store hours and customer traffic.
