Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead and manage scientific research projects, provide technical expertise, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions in the field.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Provide technical expertise on storm water services for clients within the power, retail, transportation, state and local government, heavy industry and solid waste sectors.
- Plan, organize and administer permitting, inspection, monitoring and data management for industrial stormwater projects.
- Develop new and update existing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans.
- Prepare regulatory technical reviews and reports.
- Provide subject matter expertise around Best Management Practice (BMP) design and implementation.
- Conduct periodic QAQC site visits to verify site compliance.
- Provide mentoring and training to field inspectors and less experienced staff.
- Coordinate the investigation of prohibited non-stormwater discharges, water quality problems, permit exceedances, and non-compliance issues that may arise for client-permitted facilities.
- Interface with project databases and tools to measure project performance and KPIs.
- Collaborate with project team members across the country.
- Adhere to all safety protocols while working in the field.
- Executing various work scopes, while meeting project schedules and budgets.
- Work efficiently and collaboratively within a large project team.
- Monitor applicable regulatory requirements and stay abreast of regulatory trends.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field (civil engineering, geology, environmental sciences) desirable.
- 7+ years of experience providing stormwater related services to customers.
- Stormwater certification(s) desired.
- Possess a history of and competence in implementing SWPPP requirements.
- Firm understanding of storm water management and erosion control BMPs, including field implementation and maintenance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
- Team player mentality with demonstrated history of meeting project deadlines and achieving client satisfaction .
- Must be competent using Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel. Must be comfortable manipulating information using tablets.

- ability to interact with clients, various project consultants, contractors, and team members.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
