Job Title: Coordinator of Formation FLSA Status: Exempt
Department:* Office of the Permanent Diaconate Hrs/Week*: 40 hours
Reports to: Director of Permanent Diaconate / Chief of Staff Revised: January 2024
Primary Purpose To assist the Bishop and the Director of the Permanent Diaconate in the supervision of the spiritual and personal formation of men in formation and their families.
Essential Functions:
1. Reports directly to the Director of the Permanent Diaconate
2. Oversees both Aspirants and Candidates
3. Oversees the implementation of the formation program.
4. Conducts regularly scheduled assessments.
5. Makes home and parish visitations.
6. Supervises the formation team, faculty, and mentors.
7. Maintains contact with the aspirants’ pastors.
8. Must be familiar with the diaconate, have parish experience, as well as practical skills and experience in formation, curriculum development, adult educational methodology, vocational discernment, supervision, and administration or similar fields and experiences.
9. Assist with other related duties as assigned by the Bishop, the Director of the Permanent Diaconate and the Chief of Staff.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required or Preferred
A Deacon, man or woman religious, lay person with a Bachelor’s degree in Theology or related field or equivalent work experience preferred; Master’s degree preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required; able to communicate with Pastors, staff, parishioners, and administrative boards and committees. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team. Must be able to handle confidential information and be well-organized with attention to detail. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Bilingual preferred.

- Reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers to handle objects and operate tools, computers, and/or controls; some light lifting may be required.
Duties may require travel and attendance at evening and/or weekend meetings. Although work is performed primarily under inside environmental conditions, the required travel may result in temporary exposure to outside environmental conditions. Regular driving and a valid driver’s license are required. Duties require a wide range of intellectual and practical problem-solving skills and comprehension of complex concepts.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
