This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
Our ideal candidate will work primarily at the front desk, delivering excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in person, via the phone, and online contributing to member retention.
- Conduct tours responsive to the needs of prospective members & sells memberships.
- Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
- Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
- This is not an exhaustive list of duties. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to communicate effectively with members, staff, volunteers, community leaders and the entire Y community of all ages.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Publisher, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated self-starter, maturity, punctuality and follow-through.
- Detail oriented, team player with the ability to work independently successfully.
- Organized, with and ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.
- The employee frequently is required to sit and reach, and must be able to move around the work environment.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour
Schedule:
- 4 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
