Job Overview
The Sales Planning and Analytics Analyst is a key team member on the Small Format Strategic Retail team owning the data and analytics to support the selling team. The role provides the team with total business analysis and insights focused on driving sales growth and market share gains.
The Sales Analyst is the key partner for the Business Leads and will report to the Sr. Director of Sales. You are a critical link between Sales, Category Management, and the in-store execution teams synchronizing Point of Sale (POS), inventory / shipment, and shopper data to drive strategic decisions.
You will develop an in-depth knowledge of channel-specific selling, trade promotion, and financial planning activities to support the Sales group. Additionally, you will lead tracking program performance against the annual operating plan (AOP), and key customer and channel metrics. You will work with the customer directly to ensure that their data needs are met.
Primary job functions include analysis of internal / external sales reporting, identifying business growth opportunities thru data, monitoring performance across the competitive set, scorecarding in-store execution performance, leveraging predictive analytics to improve forecasting, and sales presentation development.
To be successful in this role you should have consumer product/retail experience and be familiar with the Direct Store Delivery (DSD) processes. You should have advanced skills in Microsoft office products including PowerPoint, Excel, and be experienced working with customer POS data, Tableau and/or Alteryx.
Responsibilities and Key Objectives

Provide key analysis of sales data to drive insights and strategic recommendations, both internally and externally, including proactively seeking selling opportunities

Consistently identify trends that lead to risk and opportunity identification

Create scorecarding and tracking for key customers. This will be critical to driving the overall success of our agreed strategies with the customer partners.

Oversee and Manage Team operational reviews
Location and Travel:
This role will be based in the Frisco, TX headquarters with flexibility to work remotely several days per week. Attendance at select key customer HQ meetings is required (estimated 5% travel).
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited institution

Minimum 3 years of experience using MS Office, with advanced skills in MS Excel (pivot tables, charts, graphs, macros, data simulation)

Minimum 3 years of experience with retailer portal or internal retailer process interaction preferred

Prefer experience in “Fortune 500” company, or in the Consumer Packaged Goods, Beverage, or related industries. Prior Sales experience a plus.

High degree of curiosity for the retail space with strong personal drive and energy to succeed

Well organized, with detail oriented and analytical mindset.
