Position Summary: The Director of Quality Assurance at Neptune Flood will play a pivotal role in advancing our QA strategies and processes. Reporting directly to the executive team, this leader will provide strategic oversight, enhance our operating control environment, and take a hands-on approach in developing and refining QA tests and methodologies. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in quality assurance, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of QA best practices within the insurance or technology sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Oversight:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy that aligns with Neptune Flood's business objectives and technology roadmap.
- Provide leadership and direction for the QA team, fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with senior management and other stakeholders to integrate QA processes with business and product development goals.
Operational Management:
- Oversee the execution of QA processes and testing activities across all product lines to ensure the highest standards of quality and reliability.
- Enhance the existing QA operating control environment, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards.
- Implement robust metrics and reporting systems to monitor and communicate QA performance and effectiveness.
Hands-On Development:
- Participate directly in the design, development, and execution of test plans and test cases, particularly for complex and high-impact projects.
- Lead by example in conducting thorough testing, identifying defects, and working collaboratively with development teams to resolve issues.
- Stay abreast of the latest QA tools, technologies, and methodologies, including efficiency gains using advanced AI and ML models.
- Advocate for, and implement, best practices and innovations.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing QA team, providing guidance on career development and technical growth.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
- Identify skill gaps and training needs and implement development plans to enhance team capabilities.
Qualifications:
Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in managing and developing QA teams and processes in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
- Experience in the financial or insurance industry, or related field, is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Strong strategic thinking, mathematics and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to align QA initiatives with broader business goals.
- Excellent hands-on technical skills in designing and executing manual and automated tests.
- Proficiency with QA tools and platforms such as Cypress, Playwright, JIRA, and Postman.
- Deep understanding of QA methodologies, testing types, and best practices, including Agile and DevOps environments.

- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
