Continuously monitors the water treatment processes and makes operational changes necessary to insure conformance to acceptable standards and specified water quality. In addition, performs routine operational maintenance and custodial tasks on equipment and work area. Full time position, Monday thru Friday 7 AM to 4 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Assure that plant operates within required standards
- Sample various containers including: drums, totes, vac trucks and tankers
- Transfer/offload material from sampled containers to the waste water system
- Operate all plant equipment and processes and participate in routine and preventive maintenance and housekeeping
- Collect and analyze samples of water or waste at different stages of the treatment process
- Work with hazardous chemicals using proper safety practices
- Monitors performance of electrical systems, circuits or equipment. Notifies supervisor of any problems
- Record daily entries in log sheets, log book and/or computer
- May be required to perform or assist with corrective maintenance of equipment
- Other duties as assigned
Education, qualifications and experience:
- A high school education or equivalent is required
- College level coursework or technical training in Water Treatment, biology/environmental science or chemistry preferred
- Experience in domestic or industrial water or wastewater treatment is desired
- Knowledge in computer operations, data entry, spreadsheets, and word processing
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed
- Ability to follow and communicate both oral and written instructions
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers and the general public

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
