Formal Education and Training
Logistics Associate preferred, Logistics or equivalent commercial apprenticeship
Occupational Experience
2+ years of working experience in logistics of manufacturing products & ideally experience in a regulated environment (medical device or other)
Additional Knowledge Requirements
- EDP knowledge (e.g., MS Office applications, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems)
- Good written and oral communication as well as documentation skills
- Basic understanding of technical processes
- Full Professional Proficiency in English
- Ability to lift >25lbs.
Responsibilities:
1. Dispatch and Outbound – Preparation
- Checks the status of manufacturing jobs ready for dispatch and sets up the shipping process accordingly
- Creates and prepares shipping documents based on received delivery conditions and other specifications
- Obtains offers from forwarding companies and compares quality/cost/time
- Select the best offer within delegated authority
2. Dispatch and Outbound – Execution
- Initiates shipment by coordinating dispatch handling with the forwarding company according to the shipping schedule and specifications received
- Packages shipped goods according to requirements received
- Provides required documentation and tracking information to the recipient on the day of shipment
- Documents dispatched for internal recording and further processing
3. Export and Import Processing
- Prepares customs documents for export and import
- Determines customs duties and freight charges for export and import shipments for further processing
- Coordinates with the respective authorities in customs
4. Inbound
- Tracks the status of incoming goods based on provided information and provides status to internal stakeholders in case of deviations from the requirements received
- Executes inspection of incoming packages as per instructions received
- Compares packing lists to the information received and notifies internal recipient in case of deviations
5. Inventory
- Supports cataloging and the determination of reordering points for stock items
- Maintains stock of internal storage locations based on defined stock levels
- Commissions materials based on the manufacturing schedule or other demands
- Initiates ordering of items within the area of responsibility based on reordering points or other needs
- Updates inventory counts and maintains inventory records except for custom development materials
- Performs periodic quality checks on stored items and initiates discarding of items that do not meet provided requirements
- Reports discrepancies in inventory
- Applies the 6S method to support creating a clean, organized, and safe work environment
6. Promotes a positive logistics culture
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.50 - $23.00 per hour
