At Veterans for Veterans it is our goal to counsel, advise, and provide advocacy and representation services to the veteran population nationwide. Veterans for Veterans assists Veterans with their medical disability benefits and other auxiliary benefits to which they are entitled by law. Our Case Managers must have extensive knowledge in the CFR Title 38, veteran counseling, mental health sensitivity, and the ability to prepare medical, legal and personnel records to transmit claims to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
A Veteran Document Processor, aids our Senior Case Managers with their day-to-day tasks within the veterans military disability compensation process.
This role is identical to the duties of a Paralegal.
Candidates must possess excellent professional communication skills both written and verbal. Candidates must effectively process confidential information with excellence. Perfection is needed as we prepare cases to present to the Department of Veterans of Affairs. This is a great position for an individual who comes from a military and paralegal background. We are looking for someone interested in assisting veterans but also thrives in a fast past and deadline driven environment. This position is ideal for career growth, as this is a transitional role to becoming a Senior Case Manager.
Responsibilities:
· Send and retrieve documents through encrypted internal and external links.
· Complete and submit numerous government issued forms
· Load documents into various CRMs to be processed
· Daily communication to Senior Case Managers.
· Create VA legal summaries which includes VA LAW from the CFR Title 38
· Occasional VA medical calls under the supervision of a Senior Case Manager
· Notate all progress notes throughout CRM, and Project Management Systems
· Update and review the status of documents in the system.
· Help customers with their questions and needs concerning.
· Be accurate and maintain a high level of productivity.
· Briefing of all active cases, every Tuesday and Friday in staff meetings
