This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.
The Vice President, Head of Ethics and Business Integrity (“Head of Ethics and Business Integrity”) is a key leader in HarbourVest’s global Compliance Team and reports to the Deputy Chief Compliance Officer. This individual holds primary responsibility and ownership of HarbourVest’s Ethics, Conflicts of Interest and Advisory functions and oversees 4 team members. The Head of Ethics and Business Integrity will identify, develop and enhance globally applicable policies, procedures and controls critical for the firm’s private fund investment advisory function, and partner with key stakeholders across the firm.
The ideal candidate is someone who is:

Knowledgeable about the regulatory framework and obligations applicable to private fund investment advisers and registered investment companies.

Familiar with private equity fund structures and investment strategies.

Organized and effective in driving initiatives, directly or within the team, with the capability to assume responsibility and ownership; adept at crafting strategies and building consensus to see them through to fruition.

An effective communicator who cultivates strong partnerships with all areas of the business and at various levels in the organization; is able to effectively communicate complex regulatory and compliance issues in accessible terms.

What you will do:

Manage the Firm’s Code of Ethics program, including implementing policy and control enhancements relating to personal trading, gifts and entertainment, outside business activities and political contributions.

Oversee and enhance HarbourVest’s advisory compliance function, including critical areas such as material non-public information (“MNPI”) and inside information, privacy, the Custody Rule, and cybersecurity.
