Job Description:
This is an entry-level position is a remote position to start as a Computer Support Technician with a reputable and growing IT Consulting Practice that specializes in Enterprise Content Management. This position may require hybrid work in the future. More specifically, the position is responsible for maintaining computer systems within the business setting. The responsibilities of this role include, installing computers and other hardware, updating and repairing systems and troubleshooting problems. More specifically, the position focuses on supporting the team internally and various clients’ OpenText Content Server solution suite (formerly Livelink Enterprise Server). This position would serve as an active member of the team responsible for ensuring that service levels are achieved for clients within various industries primarily in the Western Region.
Responsibilities:
The Computer Support Technician provides direct technical support for AppTier and manages requests. As a member of the Service Desk, the Computer Support Technician will:
· Set up computers and additional hardware
· Prepare and assist new hires with equipment, login credentials and downloading software
· Improve and enhance new hire onboarding process’s by creating and maintaining documentation for software downloads and system logins
· Add employees to internal systems, such as, eBility and ensure employees have the necessary access and permissions required for their role
· Work with employees to trouble shoot issues
· Respond to client support requests by identifying problems, researching solutions, and guiding clients through corrective steps
· Ensure clients are satisfied with the level of service and the solutions we provide
· Ensure clients are informed of their system's health and use through metrics tracking and reporting
· Improve and enhance service desk procedures
· Improve client documentation by creating and maintaining client information binders
· Author, revise and contribute to Client Run Books to build a knowledge base of support procedures
· Continually update their knowledge by participating in self-learning
· Assist with the installation and configuration of the OpenText Content Server product suite
· Assist in developing relational database queries (SQL), reports, and form driven interfaces
· Assist in documenting processes and creating working instructions for various solutions
· Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value for themselves and the company
Desired Skills and Experience:
Basic/Required:
· Associate degree or equivalent in a technical-related discipline
· Knowledge of Windows server operating system
· Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL)
· Knowledge of web development languages (HTML, JavaScript, PHP, XML)
· Knowledge of Web Infrastructure (IIS, Tomcat, TomEE)
· Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
· Good written and oral communication skills, particularly with documentation
· Ability to participate actively and effectively within a team
Preferred:
· Bachelor’s degree in MIS or Computer Science
· 0-2 years of experience in an IT support environment
· Experience with the Content Server platform or other Enterprise Content Management solutions
