Primary Description
We are seeking a compassionate and visionary Dean of Student Affairs for our private Christian school dedicated to serving students with disabilities. As a key member of our leadership team, the Dean will oversee the holistic well-being and academic success of our diverse student population. This role requires a deep commitment to Christian values, inclusivity, and excellence in education.
Status: Non-Exempt Full-Time, (Hourly) 40 hours/week

Competencies
1. Leadership and Administration:
- Provide strategic leadership in developing and implementing policies and programs that support the mission and values of the school.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of student affairs, including admissions, student support services, and correction.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and parents to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and supported.
2. Student Support Services:
- Develop and implement individualized support plans for students with disabilities, ensuring access to appropriate accommodations and resources.
- Coordinate with special education staff, counselors, and therapists to address the unique needs of students and promote their academic and personal growth.
- Advocate for students with disabilities within the school community and facilitate partnerships with external agencies and organizations.
3. Spiritual and Character Development:
- Foster a Christ-centered environment that promotes spiritual growth, character development, and moral integrity among students.
- Provide care and support to students facing personal challenges or crises, offering guidance and encouragement rooted in Christian principles.
- Organize and oversee chapel services, retreats, and other spiritual activities that nurture staff and students' faith and sense of community.
4. Parent and Community Engagement:
- Cultivate strong relationships with parents, guardians, and families, keeping them informed and involved in their children's education and well-being.
- Collaborate with local churches, community groups, and service organizations to enhance support networks and resources for students with disabilities.
- Represent the school in meetings, events, and outreach efforts aimed at raising awareness and support for inclusive education and disability rights.

Educational and Professional Requirements
- Master's degree in Education, Special Education, Counseling, or a related field (Doctorate preferred).
- Experience in leadership roles within a private Christian school or similar educational setting.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, best practices and resources for students with disabilities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills, with a genuine passion for serving students and families.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and build consensus around shared goals.
- Flexibility, creativity, and resilience in addressing the unique challenges and opportunities of serving students with disabilities in a Christian educational context.
