Job Description
Position: Estimator FSLA Designation: Exempt
Reports to: Director of Purchasing
Position Summary:
This individual is responsible for the day-to-day estimating functions of the Purchasing Department including but not limited to material and labor take-offs for CastleRock plans and options, management of engineering priority list, estimating process management, communication with the field on take-off and engineering related questions, and communication of estimating changes.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build job estimate take-offs for new plans, plan revisions, new elevations, options, and specification changes in Plan Swift and Newstar
- Enter and maintain accurate take-offs in Newstar
- Insure material take-offs match plans and specifications
- Architectural plan review to ensure plans match series specifications
- Coordinate updates between plan designer and engineer
- Manage engineering priority list by establishing/adjusting priorities to ensure engineering is completed on schedule
- Field questions from field managers relating to take-offs, engineering, and materials
- Review variance PO requests for take-off errors
- Conduct variance investigations (job cost reports, variance history, contact builders) to resolve recurring extras and improve accuracy of take-offs
- Perform field audits as necessary to analyze variances, review material installation and usage matches take-offs, and verify quantities
- Responsible for maintaining estimating standards and calculations while forwarding revisions/changes to vendors, construction team, and Purchasing associates
- Special projects and duties as assigned by the Director of Purchasing and/or Purchasing Manager
Position Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working in residential homebuilding and/or Purchasing department
- Proficiency with Planswift, Newstar, Microsoft Office, and Excel
- Ability to manage high-volume workload efficiently while working within tight deadlines
- Proficiency and knowledge of residential construction materials, plans, and construction techniques
- Strong attention to detail is required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Schedule:

Experience:
- New Star Enterprise: 3 years (Preferred)
