About the Program and Position:
Cayuga Center’s Human Resources Department supports implementing the center's vision and mission, leveraging its most vital asset: its people. The Department has multiple staff members, including recruiters, benefits administrators, specialists, generalists, and assistants based in New York City, Florida, and Auburn, NY.
Cayuga Centers seeks a dedicated individual for the Human Resources Associate based in Auburn, NY to support newly hired staff in all locations throughout Cayuga Centers. Under the supervision of the Director of Background Checks and Onboarding, the HR Associate is responsible for the day-to-day HR needs with onboarding new staff and working alongside the HR team to complete background checks, drug screening, fingerprinting, SCR checks, and other requirements needed. How you get to use your skills…

Assist in coordinating employee orientation process with HR Department staff, Training Department, and supervisors, which includes but is not limited to notifying the Training Department of attendees, scheduled fingerprint appointments, physicals and TB tests

Coordination of onboarding for new hires and assist with new hire paperwork

Enter personnel information into the Human Resources Information System. Utilize HRIS applications to track all HR data electronically

Assist in agency recruiting process, including but not limited to posting job openings, updating ads, tracking job postings

Receive and redirect candidate calls during the hiring process

Conduct reference and PSA checks for job applicants

Assist with online investigation and employee background checks

Assist with external and internal audits for the Human Resources Department

Coordinate creation and distribution of ID Badges for all incoming and transferring staff

Record meeting minutes and distribute on time

Communicate with supervisors positively to ensure deadlines are met

Complete requested/required projects for the Human Resources Department

Assist team with various projects as assigned
Schedule: Exempt

Regular hours entail 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday

Must be flexible to meet program needs
Experience and Skills:-
Associate degree required
-
At least two years of experience working in an office setting required

Highly skilled in MS Office and web-based HRIS systems. Working knowledge of Paylocity and ATS programs is preferred

Excellent organizational skills

Must be able to complete tasks independently and with high attention to detail

Excellent communication and customer service skills and ability to work in a flexible team context

NYS Driver’s License required
