Cook/Prep Cook/Dining Assistant for Assisted Living Communities
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of various food items- following a menu
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards to ensure a safe dining experience for customers
- Assist with menu planning and development, taking into consideration dietary restrictions and customer preferences
- Support catering events by preparing food items according to specific event requirements
Skills:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the food service or catering industry is preferred
- Knowledge of basic food handling and preparation techniques
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff members
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Passion for the culinary arts and a desire to learn and grow in the food industry
