Position Title: A1 FOH Engineer

As we continue to grow our dynamic team, we are seeking a team of skilled and passionate A1 FOH Engineers as we elevate our worship services to new heights.
Role Overview: Reporting directly to the Audio Lead and Production Manager, the A1 FOH Engineer serves as the pivotal figure in our audio production team, overseeing all aspects of sound reinforcement and ensuring a seamless auditory experience for our congregation, both in-person and online. This individual will collaborate closely with our worship leaders, music director, and technical crew to achieve an optimal mix that resonates with our diverse community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a dedicated team of technicians through load-in, sound check, live performances, and load-out, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Execute sound reinforcement duties during services and events, including mixing FOH and monitoring audio feeds.
- Coordinate with the monitor engineer to ensure optimal stage monitoring for performers.
- Set up and mic placement for both musical performances and speeches, catering to the specific needs of bands and speakers.
- Oversee the setup of our live stream audio, ensuring a high-quality mix for online listeners.
- Collaborate closely with the Production Manager, Music Director, Worship Leaders, and Pastors to achieve a targeted mix that enhances the worship experience.
- Manage and coordinate sound system setups in collaboration with the Monitoring Engineer, A2, and volunteers.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a lead audio engineer in live event production, preferably within a church or concert setting.
- Proficiency in live mixing and operation of digital consoles, with a strong preference for experience with Allen and Heath systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in system management, including line array setup and configuration per spec sheet.
- Working knowledge of SMAART system tuning software
- Thorough understanding of proper gain structure, signal flow, and audio rigging techniques.
- Ability to interpret technical documents including technical riders, input lists, and stage plots.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively direct a team in high-stress environments.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the church's event schedule.
- Punctuality, professionalism, and a collaborative attitude when working with fellow team members and volunteers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in corporate events, broadcast, or special venue settings.
- Familiarity with Waves Soundgrid servers and Shure Workbench software.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable working at heights and in diverse environmental conditions.
- Physical capability to lift and move audio equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
