Core Responsibilities
- Project engineering duties include the use of technical competence to determine the discipline scope-of-work for a project and support required from other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare advanced planning documents, scoping documents, budget requests and appropriation documents.
- Prepare detailed specifications for projects. Meet with vendors and customers to optimize the proposed design.
- Perform economic evaluations.
- Establish project schedules.
- Provide support to Station Maintenance, Operations, Purchasing and Construction Departments for the procurement and construction of projects.
- Supervise both in-house and out-of-house design efforts.
- Analyze existing and new installations or structures.
- Respond to occasional emergencies on a 24/7 basis.
- Prepares facility physical arrangements, engineering cost estimates, reviews physical schematics, and physical construction drawings.
- Participates in preparation of budgets, appropriations, scoping documents, concept reviews, design field walks, cost reviews.
- Conduct and participates in field evaluation/analysis of field equipment or system misoperations, prepares failure analysis reports and other analyses as may be required.
- Assist user with engineering service request (ESR) initiation, review and follow-up.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering And 3 years of engineering work experience
Relevant Work Experience
- 3 years of full-time work experience to include one year of engineering work in the field of electric or steam generation, building and structure inspection, or design of mechanical, electrical, civil, or controls systems. Required
- Must have a working knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as ASME, NFPA, NEC, ACI, AISC, ASCE, New York City Building Code, etc. Required
- Possess a thorough understanding of the environmental issues that impact civil projects. Required
- Knowledge of structural inspections and repairs, construction methods and cost estimating. Required
- Computer proficiency to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Required
- Be well organized, detail oriented, able to render sound business decisions, and have the flexibility to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Required
- Be able to promote a positive work ethic in support of the Company's Corporate Values, possess a high energy level and have a demonstrated commitment to environmental excellence and safety in the workplace. Required
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills and have the demonstrated ability to effectively interact with personnel on all levels. Required
- Must be capable of supervising out-of-house consulting engineers. Required

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
