Position Summary:
Shoreline Bioscience seeks an ambitious Scientist-II to join our macrophage cell therapy R&D team. In this role, you will contribute to fostering a culture of innovation and driving us towards our ambitious goals of revolutionizing solid tumor and autoimmune cell therapies. This is a full-time position reporting directly to the Principal Scientist of Macrophage Cell Therapy. The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $150,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate is dependent on the candidate's experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, the hired candidate is eligible to receive an annual bonus and will receive an equity grant, at the time of hire, in the form of the option to purchase stock in the future for a specified price.
Primary Responsibilities:

Culture and differentiation of iPSC into Macrophage.
- Characterize iPSC-Macrophages using advanced flow cytometry techniques.
- Optimization of bioreactor process for iPSC-Macrophage differentiation.
- Design and manage omics experiments.
- Develop in vitro assays for immunotherapy applications (cytotoxicity, proliferation, activation, viability, and survival).
- Advanced cell culture of primary immune cells (mouse and human).
- Cell line management.
- Perform basic immunotherapy techniques (ELISA, flow cytometry, microscopy, RT-PCR, Western blot, etc.).
- Critically analyze and interpret data and communicate data in key presentations.
- Keep meticulous records of experiments performed.
- Develop comprehensive data packages to support IND submissions.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Essential: experience working with complex human cell culture.
- Preferred: experience working with innate immune cell therapy products.
- Preferred: Ph.D. in immunology or relevant scientific discipline, with 4+ years of industry experience.
- Alternatively: BA/MS degrees in immunology, cell biology, or a relevant scientific discipline, along with 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Experience working independently within a team to design, interpret and troubleshoot experiments.
Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of immunology, macrophage biology, stem cell biology, and/or immunotherapy.
- Expertise in multi-color flow cytometry and immunophenotyping.
- Expertise in cell-based assay development.
- Proficiency working efficiently and multitasking in a dynamic, detail-oriented research environment.
- Self-motivated with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficient with MS Office and standard data analysis packages (e.g., Prism, Flowjo).
