Quality Assurance Supervisor (Shift)
Overview: The Quality Assurance Supervisor will oversee the compliance with all quality and food safety standards, ensuring corrective actions are taken as needed across departments. This role involves supervising QA Laboratory Technicians, conducting inspections, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Monitoring:
- Oversee daily activities and reports of QA Laboratory Technicians.
- Perform scheduled inspections of HACCP prerequisite programs (GMP, Sanitation, Brittle and Hard Plastic inspection, Chemical control, MSS, Pathogen, Safety, Allergen, Gluten-free, Hold and Release programs, etc.).
- Conduct daily walkthroughs of the facility to ensure compliance with quality and food safety standards.
- Corrective Actions:
- Submit corrective actions to respective departments, assist in root cause analysis, and monitor the effectiveness of corrective measures.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend changes within different areas of the company.
- Develop work instructions, forms, and methodologies for process and finished product evaluation.
- Data Management:
- Provide statistical information from laboratory results to validate the Quality Management System.
- Complete quality result summaries and activity reports.
- Training and Documentation:
- Provide orientation training to new employees on Food Safety, GMPs, HACCP, Safety, Sanitation, Allergens, and relevant QMS programs.
- Handle documentation for incoming raw materials, including approval/rejection processes.
- Sanitation and Safety:
- Monitor sanitation procedures and safety compliance.
- Participate in preparations for internal and external audits.
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Report daily to the QA Manager on quality status and concerns.
- Analyze statistical process control data.
- Additional Duties:
- Perform special assignments as directed.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- B.S. degree in food science or a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in Food Quality Control and Food Safety with advanced knowledge of quality systems, procedures, and policies.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory/management experience.
- Skills:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency required.
- Ability to work the 2nd shift, with availability for rotating shifts and weekends based on production needs.
- Understanding of GFSI requirements.
- HACCP trained.
- Computer literacy.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
