Job Summary
The Curriculum Coordinator supports the educational programs in the Learning Academy. This person is primarily responsible for supporting the implementation of the Kids ‘R’ Kids Curriculum through initial and ongoing training and support of teachers in the classroom environment. The Curriculum Coordinator also supports the operation and management of the center in capacities outlined by the Owner/Director.
Qualifications
· Certifications or degree in Early Childhood or Primary Education fields.
· Classroom experience in an early childhood setting.
· Evidence of leadership or management in past employment.
· Knowledge of teaching principles, practices, and classroom procedures.
· Ability to communicate effectively through written and oral communication.
· All qualifications must meet state licensing requirements.
Job Responsibilities
Educational Programs
§ Ensures implementation and organization of the Kids ‘R’ Kids curriculum in each classroom at all times.
§ Working knowledge of the Kids ‘R’ Kids curriculum, Learning Management System, and the weblink for all series, guides, supplement materials and programs.
§ Decision process for developmentally appropriate curriculum to be used by each classroom/suite
§ Distribution of all curriculum print material to teachers as needed.
§ Arrangement of master copies/CDs of all curriculum materials in one secure location for reference.
§ Appropriate room arrangements in all classrooms as it pertains to materials and furniture – active and quiet spaces/stations, whole group and small group arrangements, station management.
§ Assist teachers with age-appropriate required visual displays providing a print rich environment – Family Information Boards, bulletin boards and displays, state forms, schedules, environmental and functional print, interactive boards, props and enhancements.
§ Manages weekly materials list and school wide system for organization of distribution.
§ Organization and maintenance of library books, tapes, CDs and classroom signage.
§ Introductory training sessions for new teachers using KRK materials.
§ Curriculum updates, new procedures, communications from the support center as it pertains to curriculum – communication with regional personnel/email addresses.
§ Organization and upkeep of teacher observation records and or state required training hours and determined training needs.
§ Input for performance reviews for teacher performance and development of PDP (Professional Development Plan).
§ Facilitate and motivate teamwork through contests, staff appreciation days school-wide campaigns, in-house workshops, lunch and learns, etc.
§ Participation in staff meetings with school curriculum news.
§ Weekly classroom observations using a documented organized system for teacher monitoring and mentoring sessions during classroom activities.
§ Program Review explanation and communication with teaching staff.
§ Develop and maintain an inventory of supplies for classroom/teacher use.
§ Suggest ways to take learning outside and observe playground activities as part of curriculum execution.
§ Promote Pro Solutions trainings and/or online programs as well as KRK proprietary trainings
§ Promote school/state health and safety standards.
§ Ensures teaching staff informs parents of their child’s progress.
§ Reviews classroom lesson plans and postings.
§ Plans and assists the management team with child classroom transitions ensuring they are
communicated to both the families and teachers in a timely manner.
§ Ensures that an assessment is completed for each child and that the child’s progress is communicated to the parents.
§ Ensures evidence of learning displays are professional, neat and reflects the curriculum.

Enrollment
§ Keeps parents apprised of Learning Academy’s activities.
§ Assist management with any family issues relating to the classroom so that they are resolved quickly.
§ Assist with the curriculum explanation in a tour with a potential new family.
Center Staff
§ Ensures that proper child-staff ratios are maintained.
§ Encourages high quality teacher-child interactions.
§ Responsible for staff orientation, training, and mentoring. Follows and implements Kids ‘R’ Kids and state training guidelines with every new employee.
§ Ensures that each staff member receives and understands his/her job description, policies and procedures, and orientation materials.
§ Maintains staff training records on all center employees as required by state licensing regulations.
§ Coaches and counsels staff members when necessary.
§ Participates in all staff training sessions, meetings, and programs as requested by the Director and sponsored by the Learning Academy. Willing to lead session if requested to do so by the Director.
§ Supervises and mentors all teachers to ensure the physical and emotional wellbeing of each child in the classroom.
§ Supervises and mentors all teachers in the required skills and expertise needed to ensure an appropriate classroom environment.
Customer Relations
§ Develops and actively maintains positive communications with families and staff.
§ Recognizes parent concerns, evaluates course of action and responds appropriately to the needs of families. Communicates family concerns to the Director. Maintains strict confidentiality regarding children and families.
Relationships with Families
§ Maintains effective communications with families.
§ Listens attentively to their concerns and takes appropriate action - Is available to parents at their convenience.
§ Conducts parent meetings and other conferences as appropriat
