Summary: The primary purpose of the Medicaid (MCD) MDS Coordinator at EdenHill Communities is to develop and maintain procedures, in accordance with Federal and State guidelines, that will ensure accurate and complete MDS, RAI and care plans for all residents assigned while achieving maximum reimbursement and regulatory compliance for residents assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assume the authority, responsibility, and accountability as delegated by the Director of Nurses; cooperating, communicating, employing ingenuity and enthusiasm in developing cohesive inter-departmental relations and improving methods to maximize Medicaid reimbursement in accordance with Federal and State guidelines.
- The coordination and oversight of assigned interdisciplinary team in completion of assessments and care planning for residents assigned.
- The scheduling and timely completion of the private / Medicaid MDS’s and Care plans for residents assigned.
- Conducts on-going in-service for personnel to develop knowledge of their role in reimbursement, Care Plan, and nursing documentation, as a vital element in the reimbursement process.
- Advise administration of any changes in Federal and State laws concerning Medicaid and Medicare participation.
- Function independently, have flexibility, possess the ability to communicate effectively everyone under all conditions / circumstances.
- Complete/submit LTCMI and PASRR documents and ensure appropriate follow up.
- Manage the on-call phone and staffing levels on a rotating basis as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Carries out supervisory responsibilities of program in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and implementing procedures; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. One to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse
- RAC Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
