We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Safety Manager to join our team and ensure the highest standards of safety on all our job sites.
Job Summary:
The Construction Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and protocols to ensure a safe working environment on construction sites. This role involves conducting regular safety audits, training employees, investigating incidents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Program Development:
- Develop, implement, maintain, and update comprehensive safety programs and policies.
- Training and Education:
- Conduct safety training sessions for new and existing employees.
- Provide ongoing education on safety practices and regulations.
- Develop training materials and resources to enhance safety awareness.
- Site Inspections and Audits:
- Perform regular safety inspections and audits of construction sites.
- Identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained and used.
- Incident Investigation:
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.
- Prepare detailed reports and recommend preventive measures.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities and ensure timely reporting.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records and documentation.
- Prepare and submit required safety reports.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential safety risks on construction sites.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
- Collaborate with project managers to integrate safety into project planning and execution.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and employees to promote a culture of safety.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure safety practices are followed.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
