Prior recent working experience in a clinical front office capacity is required. Experience in cardiology is preferred.
GENERAL SUMMARY
On behalf of our organization, we are in search of a committed and detailed Radiology Cardiac Scheduler. Appointment scheduling for our high-volume cardiac imaging department requires the candidate to possess a solid medical background and prior experience in the field of scheduling. Proficiency in radiology procedures, effective time management, and collaboration abilities are essential qualifications for this position, in addition to exceptional organizational skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule and coordinate all cardiac imaging exams, including PET/CT Stress tests, CT scans, and echocardiograms.
Manage appointment bookings, ensuring optimal use of all resources and adherence to patient care standards.
Handle incoming calls and inquiries from patients regarding scheduling issues, providing exceptional customer service.
Communicate effectively with cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals to confirm exam details and make necessary adjustments.
Serve as the primary point of contact for patients scheduled for any Advanced Diagnostic Imaging at the Imaging Clinic , providing them with clear instructions, answering their inquiries, and addressing any concerns they may have.
Educate patients about the preparation required for imaging procedures and provide necessary information regarding the procedure preparation.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Provide clear instructions to patients regarding preparation for their scheduled procedures.
Monitor and adjust schedules to accommodate emergency cases while minimizing disruptions to pre-arranged appointments.
Assist in the training and support of new staff in the scheduling department.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training in medical administration or healthcare is preferred
Previous experience in a radiology department or a similar healthcare setting is highly desirable.
Candidates must possess proficient computer skills and be adept at using Microsoft Office 365.
Strong understanding of medical terminology, especially related to cardiac and radiology procedures.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with patients, doctors, and other healthcare staff.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail.
Flexibility to work weekends, if required.
