General purpose of the job
The purpose of this position is to support and supervise all credit functions for the cement business USA Territory. Positively impact cash flow and working capital, evaluate credit history and determine credit limits. The Senior Credit Analyst shall develop and maintain external customer relationships and internal relationships with sales. This position is actively involved with the integrity of sales, bad debt-write off reviews, compliance with corporate credit policies and procedures. The Senior Credit Analyst must be an active problem solver with the ability to effectively negotiate contract terms, perform accurate risk assessment, and drive improvement process utilizing lean concepts to help meet company objectives.
Individual accountabilities
- Evaluate new customer’s credit data/financial statements to assess credit worthiness and risk and make a credit decision. Credit limit approval up to $250K.
- Manage a collection portfolio of $6-10 Million.
- Supervise delinquent account collection and establish alternative payment plans.
- Negotiate contract terms, perform accurate risk assessment.
- Legal/ Collection Agency approval for 3rd party account escalation.
- Negotiate payoffs deadlines or payment plans for their portfolio up to 4 – 6 Months including proper risk mitigation.
- Document collection activities and recommend charge-offs.
- Develop reports to ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Help credit analysts in solving problems.
- Approve customer refunds up to $5K.
- Assist with internal/external audit requests.
- Assist with special requests and collections on Factored Accounts.
Education
Bachelor´s Degree. BBA degree preferred.
Technical knowledge and certifications
- Minimum 4-6 years in a credit decision making capacity up to Low 6 figures with 1-2 years of supervisory experience, will consider candidates who do not meet education requirements who possess a minimum of 8 years industry specific experience and 3-5 years supervisory experience.
- 8 years industry specific experience and 3-5 years supervisory experience.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of SAP_FI Module.
- Thorough Knowledge and Understanding of the construction industry; collections, and bond claims.
- Working knowledge of Command.
