We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Policy & Project Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a proven track record in government, public policy, research, program implementation, and project management. You will be responsible for helping develop and implement effective policies across a range of topical areas, while also managing complex projects that bring those policies to life.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Policy Development & Advocacy
● Conduct research and analysis to inform policy development in banking and finance, agriculture, social justice, community development (transportation, land use, housing), and philanthropy.
● Draft and refine policy recommendations, white papers, memos, and presentations.
● Advocate for policy adoption through collaboration with government officials, political organizations, community stakeholders, industry leaders, and various interest groups.
● Facilitate program implementation related to enacted legislation.
Project Management
● Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of complex projects related to banking and finance, agriculture, social justice, community development (transportation, land use, housing), and philanthropy.
● Dimension project budgets, timelines, and resources management to ensure successful completion.
● Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that may arise during policy development, program management, and project execution.
● Lead and mentor project teams, fostering collaboration and clear communication.
Event Planning
● Develop, plan, and execute strategic events related to policy goals, programs, initiatives, and community endeavors.
● Help curate high-impact events, such as convenings of industry stakeholders, elected officials, government agencies, philanthropists, and high-profile leaders.
● Secure speakers, venues, and sponsors for policy-driven events.
● Manage logistics and ensure smooth event execution.

Qualifications:
● Minimum of seven to ten years of experience in a senior role, with elected officials, government agencies, philanthropic organizations, nonprofit organizations, or research institutions focused on banking and finance, food systems, climate and agriculture, or philanthropy, required.
● Knowledge of public policy, politics, community initiatives and programs, communications, and public affairs/relations, strongly desired.
● Demonstrated ability of copy editing, cogent writing, and succinct communications for diverse audiences on complex issues.
● Minimum of five years of experience leading and participating in successful advocacy campaigns, across several forms of communications, media, and digital platforms, a plus.
● Minimum of five years of experience managing high-value projects and/or staff.
● Master's Degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Public Affairs, Public Administration, Communications, or related field preferred, OR a combination of a Bachelor’s degree and specialized experience will be considered.
● Ability to navigate a high-pressure, fast-paced environment, handle confidential information, and coordinate seamlessly with a broad set of stakeholders.
● Proficient in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project).
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
● Proven knowledge and proficiency of information systems and the supporting infrastructure of computers, data sources, and desktop/cloud-based software (Google Apps, Salesforce, Asana).
● Demonstrated complex project management and organizational skills.
● Effective team player with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate diplomatically and professionally with a wide variety of constituencies.
● Strong political instincts
● Adaptability to changing priorities and quick turnarounds, required.
· While this position is currently remote, San Francisco Bay Area-based candidates are preferred because the role involves sporadic travel in support of the Organization’s goals.
