Overview:
We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all environmental, health, and safety regulations to maintain a safe workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements
- Develop and implement safety procedures and protocols to minimize risks
- Investigate accidents or incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain records of incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare reports as needed
- Collaborate with management to address safety concerns and improve overall workplace safety culture.
Skills:
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
- Maintain and update safety data sheets (SDS) and other relevant documentation.
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills
- Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics
- Compile and track all documentation for compliance with all safety policies and required safety activities (Work Notifications, Inspection Records, OSHA 300)
- Background in occupational health practices
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and Occupational Health standards
- Proficiency in Workers' Compensation law and EPA regulations
- Experience in conducting root cause analysis and writing detailed reports
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
