Compensation: $14.42 per hour + 2% cash share of service charge for each departure worked
Summary: Moves customers orders from the kitchen window or bars to customers accurately and efficiently. Serves guests quickly while offering superior customer service.
About Us: The Royal Gorge Route Railroad carries over 250,000 guests from around the world through Colorado's Royal Gorge. Our focus is on providing an outstanding, safe, and consistently fantastic experience across all touch points while on property and onboard the train. The Royal Gorge Route employs up to approximately 400 staff members during peak seasons, with about 75 on duty at any one time. Our train consist currently supports up to 800 passengers per run, and includes several dome cars, classic dining cars, bar cars, coach cars and open-air cars - all of which are supported by onboard kitchens and full bars, as well as a scratch-cooking commissary kitchen, ticketing operation and retail experience in the Santa Fe Depot.
Essential Functions
Warmly greets and acknowledges guests upon arrival.
Serves customers orders from the kitchen window or bars to the customers seat/table.
Answering any questions customers may have concerning menu items.
Polishes/rolls silverware used for service.
Cleans, stocks, and maintains the workstations throughout shift.
Complete cleaning tasks on board during, between and after departures.
Follows all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Performs additional responsibilities as directed by management.
Education/Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or actively pursuing an education
Knowledge
Understanding of federal, state, and local liquor laws
Skills/Aptitudes
Ability to read/speak/write the English language and communicate effectively.
Ability to take direction and work under moderate supervision.
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to work quickly, calmly, and effectively under pressure
Conflict Resolution, ability to deal with unpleasant or angry customers.
Working Conditions/Essential Job Functions
This position will spend 95% of the time standing/walking and 5% of the time sitting
Position requires ability to bend, twist, make repetitive motions, use hands to hold and carry items/trays, kneel, reach, push and pull.
This position requires the ability to work/move safely on a moving train.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Direct contact with guests, managers, and co-workers.
Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, snow, rain and water.
