POSITION SUMMARY: The Electrical Engineer III is the third level in the series of roles responsible for the design, development, testing, and implementation of electrical engineering projects. This is an experienced-level position with no direct reports that reports directly to the Lead Electrical Engineer.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs individual design projects for connectivity solutions, under general supervision.
- Design/generate schematics, wiring diagrams, harness assembly, and electrical reports with goal of performing on time and under budget.
- Stays informed of new technologies, trends, and regulations in electrical/aerospace/SATCOM engineering.
- Works to the criteria of design proposals, Customer Specifications and requirements.
- Researches design proposals, specifications, and requirements. Analyzes data and applies to product designs.
- Supports team members and helps ensure that established goals and deadlines are met.
- Assist in customer and partner collaborations.
- Keeps project lead informed of status and significant problems.
- Supports the quality management system and quality objectives.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with area staff and management.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination, and working relationships with customers, suppliers, and outside contacts.
- Progresses in job knowledge and skill required to bring added value to the organization.
- Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
- Support avionics in software loading testing, and troubleshooting of installed electrical systems for conformity
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Holds Degree in Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- Possesses 8+ years of experience as an Electrical Engineer in aviation, preferably with direct experience in aviation SATCOM systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Satellite communications experience.
- General familiarity with radio frequency (RF), particularly in the K/Ku/Ka bands.
- Familiar with designing the following electrical systems: SATCOM, Cabin Networks, IFE.
- Avionics/Electrical Troubleshooting.
- Familiar with and/or Prepared substantiation reports including EMI/RFI Ground/Flight Tests, Ground/Flight Functional Tests, FQIS Wire Routing Assessment Analysis, Electrical Load Analysis, and System Safety Assessments.

- Must be able to adhere to all established safety policies, processes and procedures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in indoor and outdoor settings. The indoor settings include office and warehouse environments which require the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as safety gear. The outdoor settings include parking lots and airplane runways. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Occasionally subject to varying inside and/or outside temperatures, which may include extreme heat (temperatures above 100 degrees) or extreme cold (temperatures below 32 degrees).
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions.
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must be able to legally work in the US without sponsorship. Must be able to pass a post offer DOT drug test upon hire.
