In business now for 18 years we are the premier sushi option in the middle of Manhattan on the south end of Bryant Park. We serve modern and creative sushi paired with an upscale environment. We are a guest focused restaurant and are looking for exceptional and creative chefs!
- 3 years minimum New York City restaurant experience as a Sushi Chef.
- Has butchering skills for multiple fish and shellfish species and must be able to accurately make sushi rice as well as prep all ingredients related to service.
- Maintaining product quality & developing creative and tasteful presentations.
- Must have knowledge of Japanese techniques (knife skills) and traditional ingredients, must have your own knives.
- Able to maintain exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintaining all sushi bar station work areas, keeps station DOH compliant at all times.
- This individual must be able to consistently deliver under pressure.
- Communicating with staff to ensure special requests and allergy considerations are met.
- Educating Staff on Japanese ingredients ,products & cuisine.
- New York City Food Handler’s Certification preferred.
- Must have open availability.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
