IPS is a behavioral healthcare company that specializes in outpatient mental health and substance use treatment for adults in socioeconomically diverse populations in Dallas, Ellis, and Kauffman Counties. IPS is state-funded, non-profit organization, that specializes in the provision of outpatient clinical services for those negatively associated with the criminal justice system. IPS is seeking individuals that are passionate about helping those that struggle with mental illness, substance abuse, homelessness, and forensically involved clientele. We are currently seeking an Intake Specialist to join our team!
Duties/Responsibilities
Under supervision of the Professional Support Manager, the Intake Specialist provides front line intake services to clients enrolling in treatment services at IPS. This position is accountable for reviewing eligibility and program expectations prior to client’s engagement in services. This position requires a thorough understanding of the clinic’s philosophy of treatment, admission process, and criteria. A basic knowledge of substance use and dual diagnosis is essential.
The Intake Specialist is responsible for:
- Conducting financial intakes for new clients
- Running reports to identify current clients in need of a financial update
- Processing financial documents upon receipt
- Maintaining clients’ files and upholding patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Composing, preparing, and ensuring timely responses to a variety of written and/or verbal
inquiries

- Ability to work in a fast-paced high-volume clinic
- Proficient typing skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
- Effective time management and coordination skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suites

- Monday: 8:00a – 5:00p
- Tuesday: 8:00a – 5:00p
- Wednesday: 8:00a – 5:00p
- Thursday: 8:00a – 5:00p
- Friday: 8:00a – 5:00p
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Conferred Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, or a related psychotherapeutic field with 1+ year of previous psychiatric experience, required
- QMHP
- Previous Intake experience, preferred
