Our pain management practice in Overland Park is currently recruiting for a highly motivated and dedicated PRE-MED student (preferably in their gap year) to serve as a full-time (Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm) Medical Scribe to supplement our clinical team. We are looking for a positive person who is interested in being successful and helping us grow our practice. The ideal candidate will primarily be responsible for the administrative/documentation functions in a clinical setting. The Scribe will accompany the MD/NP with patient interviews and examination.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Document the physician dictated patient history, including history of present illness, review of systems, past medical and surgical history, family and social histories, medications and allergies and other relevant medical history
- Document the correct time of patient care related activities, including physician to physician communication, family communication and re-examination of the patient.
- Prepare referral letters as directed by the physician, via dictation or summary of the medical record.
- Ensure that letters are mailed or faxed on a daily basis to all physicians involved in a patient’s care, and with all copies of pertinent reports or tests attached, as necessary.
- Coordinate referrals, prepare operative reports, make phone calls, and other clerical tasks as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
College Degree in STEM-related field with Outstanding Academic Performance
Previous experience in a healthcare setting, highly desired
EMR experience, highly desired
Fine attention to detail.
Be willing to provide us with relevant credentials, including transcripts, essays, and professional references.
Exceptional analytical skills.
Typing: 40-60 WPM, highly desired
Impeccable verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Excellent reading comprehension and writing skills.
Medical Terminology, highly recommended.
Organization and time management skills.
