Strickland Veterinary Clinic, Tucson, AZ is looking to hire a Full-Time Veterinary Technician.

Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals.
- Perform animal catheterization and administer medications as directed by veterinarians.
- Prepare animals for surgery, including prepping surgical suite.
- Maintain gas anesthesia, monitor and record vital signs, perform dental prophy’s and dental
radiography, assist in surgery.
- Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis, and analyze results.
- Take digital X-rays of animals as needed.
- Provide veterinary critical care to sick or injured pets.
- Handle pets safely and confidently.
- Clean and straighten exam rooms, treatment, and lab areas; restock exam rooms with
supplies.
- Assist other team members to keep the public areas of the practice clean; clean and
maintain all medical equipment.
- Presentation of diagnostic/treatment plans and the associated costs to pet parents.
- Discuss discharge plans and medication instructions with pet parents.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Certified Veterinary Technician or equivalent experience required.
- Proficient in drug calculations.
- Proficient in animal catheterization, aseptic technique, laboratory procedures, X-ray
imaging
- Strong knowledge of Cornerstone Software.
- Knowledge of SOAP and other medical record keeping.
- Strong knowledge of veterinary medicine and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills with both pet parents and team members.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with composure and empathy.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE.
- Basic math skills.
